MTN Namibia Sponsors Rosewood Academy Robotics Programme in partnership with Namibia Flying Labs.

MTN Namibia announced its sponsorship of Rosewood Academy Robotics Programme in an official handover at Rosewood Academy on Friday, 23 April 2021.

Rosewood Academy is a school situated at 1 Parsival Street, Southern Industrial Area, Windhoek. The school’s student body is approximately 170 students large and prides itself on providing students with a conducive learning environment with a 1:12 teacher to learner ratio on average.

During this year MTN and Rosewood Academy entered an agreement under which MTN became the school’s official service provider for internet connectivity. This relationship was further extended by the decision to sponsor the school’s Robotics Programme over the coming 6 months as well as extending the school’s Wi-Fi range.

The 6-Month course will be presented to the Rosewood Academy Grade 9's by Namibia Flying Labs. This course will expose our learners to a variety of different career options in the technological industry. The learners are excited by the prospect of learning practically with different robots including drones, which they have recently started working with.

According to MTN Namibia’s Marketing Coordinator, Petelina Frans, the decision to sponsor the school’s Robotics Programme was one that came very easily to the company. “MTN Namibia prides itself in investing in Namibian education and as our belief statement says we firmly believe that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern connected life… We could not see a more fitting sponsorship to enter into than one that promotes the use of technology and incorporates it into everyday education.”

“This is an exciting time for our school. We are looking forward to a fruitful partnership with our official sponsor MTN Namibia and our partner Namibia Flying Labs. They (Namibia Flying Labs) provide us with the necessary expertise and equipment to serve our learners with a unique, practical learning experience,” said the Rosewood Academy Principal, Dalene Jordaan.

We believe that this is the beginning of a very exciting relationship between ISP and the school and we will continue looking for more ways to further the newly founded relationship with MTN and Namibia Flying Labs.
