Pre-Vocational Training

Rosewood Academy has a unique offering in Namibia - pre-vocational training in Educare, Hospitality, Automotive Mechanics and Office Practice. Pre-vocational education is expected to better equip the students with knowledge and life skills with which to enter the labour force. By making education more relevant, these Pre-Vocational courses are mainly designed to introduce learners to the world of work and to prepare them for entry into further vocational training programmes. 

Automotive Mechanics

Learners are trained to have a strong grounding in both theoretical and practical knowledge required for servicing and repairing motor vehicles. Learners acquire a broad range of knowledge of using tools and equipment in the automotive industry. 

Relevant to each course field, learners also study:

  • Functional Numeracy

  • Communication

  • Work Orientation

  • Fundamental ICT

  • Entrepreneurship

Educare

Learners gain knowledge about educare and educare centres; essential hygiene; basic administrative duties; the different aspects of the development of a baby to pre-school aged child and the handling of young children.  

 

Relevant to each course field, learners also study:

  • Functional Numeracy

  • Communication

  • Work Orientation

  • Fundamental ICT

  • Entrepreneurship

Hospitality

Hospitality aims to awaken interest and understand  the local social and economic environment of hospitality establishments. Learners acquire skills in various aspects of hospitality such as: tourism; housekeeping; procedures for workplace health, safety and hygiene; basic equipment and product knowledge; customer care.

 

Relevant to each course field, learners also study:

  • Fundamental ICT

  • Entrepreneurship

Office Practice
